Hello, everybody. Welcome To Tokushima and " Awa Dance" World!
We are "Awa Dance" group called ukiuki-ren.
The meaning of "ukiuki" is similar to that of "harts warm" and "Ren" has the same meaning of group.
Therefore we are "Harts warm group" in English.
Most sincerely.

Now I simply explain about the history of "Awa Dance"

When the Tokushima Castle was completed in 1587, the whole town and some drunken people are said to have danced to celebrate that.
"Awa Dance" is very easily and enjoyable dance.
With both arms in the air, steps follow the duple rhythm. The ensemble like a JAZZ consists of Japanese traditional guiter called shamisen, drums, gongs and wooden flutes.

Well, the first half, we dance on this stage, and the second half, we would like to you dance with us.

Now I would like all of you to dance.
It`s an easy and fan dance!
Please watch these two dancers.
At first, man open a legs and squat a little, and put your hands up high.
Woman tilt your upper half of the body forward and put your hands up high.
When you put your right foot forward, then your right hand gose forward also.
And a left side is same.
This dance with two beats of rhythm."1,2,1,2,1,2"
let`s all dance!
